| Abstract | Contrasts of precipitation are shown for 1999 and 2000 over Sergipe which is located in the southermost area of eastern Northeast. Two cases are selected to analyse the main atmospheric conditions associated with high precipitation over Sergipe. High precipitation in 1999 ocurred in May, associated with the presence of a frontal system in the eastern coast of Northeast, and the ZCIT. From January to May of 1999, there were long periods without rain, while in 2000 the precipitation during this period was well distributed. The case selected in 2000 occurred in February and was associated with the ocurrence of a cyclonic vortex at high level. |
